Fast Internet Access

Internet Access

Super Fast, Guaranteed connectivity to the Internet

Benefits of Carrier Ethernet for Internet Access

  • Super Fast. From 1mbps to 10,000mbps un-contended, Internet connectivity.
  • Guaranteed. Always on 24x7, not an "up-to" service. Don't be crowded out of the Internet, get your private lane to the world wide web
  • Flexible. Choose the data rate that suits you and upgrade when the time is right

Life-line. That’s how more and more businesses are describing their Internet connectivity.A life-line because your customers, your colleagues, your partners, EVERYONE needs that connection to work well all the time.

If you’re one of a growing number of businesses that feel it’s just not good enough to have “busy periods” where the Internet grinds to a halt, or where it’s just not feasible to spend thousands of dollars in upfront costs to upgrade that old legacy leased line to another legacy leased line, then Ethernet is the way forward.

There are three different service types for Internet Access delivered over Ethernet.

1. Dedicated Internet Access

Suitable for Medium to Large enterprises looking for dedicated Internet connection.
CIR (Data Rate) Typically, 2mbps to 100mbps
Ports Typically, 100mbps (Fast Ethernet)
Overview Dedicated means guaranteed bandwidth, as opposed to broadband which is a shared, or contended, service. Because it’s guaranteed bandwidth, it’s more expensive than broadband and suitable for companies who need guaranteed performance from their Internet connection 24x7.

2. IP Transit

Suitable for Service providers and enterprises requiring very high bandwidth
CIR (Data Rate) Typically, 50-10,000mbps
Ports Typically Gigabit Ethernet (1Gig-E or 10Gig-E) at Data Centers
Overview If your business has the expertise to manage BGP and has an AS (Autonomous System) number, IP Transit is another form of Internet Access but more often than not only available in Data Centers, where next generation networks converge to offer Enterprises and Service Providers a competitive market place for Internet bandwidth

3. Fibre optic broadband (coming soon)

Suitable for Small to medium size businesses looking for improvement on standard broadband
CIR (Data Rate) Typically, 10mbps, 40mbps or even 100mbps download, slower upload
Overview Sometimes referred to as Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM), this is a broadband service, delivered over existing copper pairs into the customer premises. Being delivered over multiple copper pairs offers additional resilience.
